A visit to the former seat of the Rwandan monarchy is a fantastic way to break up the lengthy drive between Nyungwe and Kigali. It also offers a window into Rwanda’s pre-colonial past. Lovingly restored to its former glory using traditional materials however it is today an impressive museum. It is surrounded by the long horned cows that were traditionally associated by the Rwandan monarchy.
